The third season of the thrilling Lifetime soap opera Devious Maids will conclude next week on August 24th, 2015. The show stars Roselyn Sanchez, Judy Reyes, Ana Ortiz and Dania Ramirez as four ambitious Latina maids working for some of the most affluent families in Los Angeles, California. But these four ladies harbor many dirty secrets of the households they represent.
The first season of the show focused on Flora Hernandez’s murder case. The maids made it their mission to find out who the real killer really was.
The second season had a lot going on. There was an obsessed ‘maid’ lover who also happened to be a killer. The season ended its run with a cliffhanger – a major character got shot on Rosie’s wedding ceremony.
In the current season three of Devious Maids, the center of focus was the Stappord family who had recently adopted a Mexican girl, Katy. It was later revealed in the last few episodes that she had witnessed her father’s murder and that a gang of goons were after her.
Additionally, a new maid was introduced this season, Blanca Alvarez (played by Naya Rivera) who was yet again murdered by an anonymous killer, and now we will finally uncover who the actual killer is in next week’s season finale.
Speaking of ratings, the current season of the show generated a million viewers per episode facing a downfall as compared to the last two seasons. But the real question is, will Lifetime renew Devious Maids for a fourth season? I sure hope so! Although the ratings have not been so impressive this year, the show continues to surprise us with its writing and acting. Let’s keep those fingers crossed!
The devious maids of Beverly Hills always come clean in the end, regardless of the deadly circumstances. Devious Maids concluded its second season on Sunday. This year’s season had a lot to offer to the audience.
The show stars Ana Ortiz, Roselyn Sanchez, Dania Ramirez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes as five maids working for some of Beverly Hills’ elitist families, but these five ladies are not just sweeping the floors or washing dishes for a living. Apparently, each and every character on the show has a wicked secret hidden under the debris.
The second season of Devious Maids was the winner in my opinion. The twisted plots and mysteries of the show were key elements that made this year’s season standout from rest of the series. Fans were able to see the dark sides of each and every character in the show. The sizzling season two finale of Devious Maids left me speechless and its ending was simply bewildering. But the real question is, will the show be renewed for a third season by Lifetime?
Clearly, the ratings played a pivotal role in this year’s season. The premiere episode managed to garner 1.96 million viewers. However, the show saw a decline in ratings throughout the remainder of the season with some episodes attracting between 1.5 – 1.7 million viewers on original airings. Despite the fluctuation in ratings, the show managed to keep up with the viewers.
The reason why I believe Lifetime should renew Devious Maids for a third season is because the show has a lot more to offer in the future. It looks promising in terms of the story lines. In addition, the series breaks a number of stereotypes about Latina women. Also, the show is a modern day soap opera that is a blend of mystery, drama and bits of comedy which is a rarity in today’s television landscape.
Devious Maids definitely has the X factor. The show has been cleverly planned out. I am sure that Devious Maids will get renewed for a third season. Let’s keep those fingers crossed!
